Best-selling author Clive Barker is a modern mythmaker, a visionary who has shaped our dreams and nightmares.  As a novelist, playwright, screenwriter, artist and director, he is a master at twisting the mundane into the extraordinary.  Born in Liverpool, England, he began his literary career writing, directing and acting for the stage.  Following the publication of his short stories The Books of Blood in 1984, Barker went on to write numerous best-selling novels, including The Great and Secret Show, Weaveworld, Imajica, The Thief of Always, Everville, Sacrament, Galilee along with his Hollywood ghost story, Coldheart Canyon.  The first book of his children’s books series entitled Abarat, was published in October 2002 to resounding critical acclaim, and he is presently completing the third volume, Absolute Midnight.  As a screenwriter, director and film producer, he is credited with the Hellraiser and Candyman franchises, as well as Nightbreed, Lord of Illusions, Gods and Monsters, The Midnight Meat Train, Book of Blood and most recently Dread.  An accomplished painter and visual artist, Barker has had exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles.
